Static promotional video of the 2013 Dacia Sandero. Dacia has unveiled the new Sandero, Sandero Stepway, and Logan models at the Paris motor show, ahead of their market launch in Spring 2013. The new models will spearhead Dacia's new design language, which aims to be assertive and upmarket. Built on the same B0 platform as its predecessor, the Sandero Stepway sits 40mm higher than the regular Sandero hatchback and its SUV styling includes front and rear skid plates, plastic bodykit, and duo-tone roof bars. In keeping with the aim for sales in emerging markets, all three models feature generous ground clearance and underbody protection for rough roads. A newly-developed Renault-sourced 0.9 litre, turbocharged three-cylinder will develop 66kW (90bhp/93PS) and 135Nm (99.5lb-ft) of torque. When bolted into the Sandero, the small unit will return 5.2l/100km (54.3mpg) and emits 120g/km. The third unit is the tried-and-tested 1.5 dCi, which will be available in two power outputs. In the Sandero and Logan, the lower 55kW (75bhp/78PS) produces 200Nm (147lb-ft) of torque at 1750rpm, while the more powerful 66kW (90bhp/94PS) engine makes 220Nm (162lb-ft) of torque.
